The winery is located on the slopes of the Pyrenees at the very heart of the Somontano region. This spectacular environment is protected from the cold of the Pyrenean peaks by the Sierra de Guara and Sierra de la Candelara mountain ranges.

The Bodega Pirineos team is made up of skilled men and women, the majority of whom bring solid theoretical training to the company.

Our team also includes 200 viticulturists, members of the Somontano de Sobrarbe Regional Cooperative and owners of 1000 hectares of vineyards that make up 95% of our land.

The professionalism of this cooperative has doubled in recent years as viticulture has now become the main activity for many members.

The setting up of multi-tasking teams within the winery in 2002 provided a number of benefits to the company, generating important savings, improving internal communication, supporting the company objectives and helping to resolve problems which has had a positive influence on investment.

Our personnel are fully involved in a shared project that is defined by total quality in all processes and by teamwork, motivation and capability. The commitment by all who work at Bodega Pirineos is the key to the recent transformation and continued success of the winery.

Bodega Pirineos is strongly committed to diversity as testament to the wine producing richness of Somontano. Aims of the work carried out include the conservation of the heritage of the region with the use of the varieties Macabeo and Tempranillo; the recovery of indigenous varietals in danger of extinction such as Parraleta and Moristel and the incorporation of others newer varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay.

Bodega Pirineos is also a pioneer with the continuous introduction of cutting edge technology to all processes in the winery; from the reception of the grapes to the complexities of barrel ageing.

The extent of Bodega Pirineos’ influence within Somontano is wide ranging and of particular significance. The viticulturists within the cooperative have vineyards that are spread over 23 municipal areas of the region, 20 of which support populations of over 500 inhabitants. Consequently, the support Bodega Pirineos provides to the continuity and growth of their projects actively promotes the socio-economic development of the region and ensures that many small rural villages are kept alive.
