Jonathan Maltus wraz z ekipą zamienił tę posiadłość w jedną z bardziej porządanych w St Emilion. Obecnie robi to samo z Colonial Estate w Barossa Valley w Australii. Jedno z ich win z Barossa dostało zdumiewające 98 punktów od Roberta Parkera i tylko jedno z pięciu win zdobyło mniej niż 90 punktów. Parker oznaczył kultowe La Dome z Chateau Teyssier na 92+ punktów, a inne wina z tej winnicy są wysoko rekomendowane.

| Château Teyssier; Saint Emilion, Bordeaux, France; http://teyssier.fr/; Home for my family and I is Château Teyssier in the heart of the appellation that is Saint Emilion where we have lived since 1994. The wines that we make are both Château (multi-parceled) and Single Vineyard (specific parcel) driven, drawn from the three terroirs that make up the one of the French Fine Wine world's largest appellations - that of Saint Emilion. Jonathan Maltus Château Teyssier is a Saint Emilion Grand Cru situated in the heart of the Saint Emilion Appellation. The Estate is steeped in history that dates back to the 1700’s, but by the time that Jonathan and Lyn Maltus arrived at the Estate in 1994, the vineyard consisted of five and a half hectares in the commune of Vignonet on the plain of Saint Emilion. The vineyards now extend to over fifty hectares under vine, a large part of which are situated amongst Cru Classé. terroir on the cotes hugging the village of Saint Emilion. With the average size of a Saint Emilion Château being around five acres this makes Château Teyssier a certain size. Nonetheless, this is home for the Maltus family – Jonathan and Lyn and their kids Jamie and Jack, along with their two dogs and two cats. The main building is Napoleonic from the second empire, with the winery, cellar, bottling and storage buildings having been completely restored or reconstructed in a style that emulates this period. Ten wines are produced ranging from our Estate wines (blended wines from different parcels given the name ‘Château’) to limited-release Single Vineyard wines. | Mi_Z | 2010/03/06 |
